Are Magnetic Socket Organizers Worth the Drawer Space?

Socket organizers are sold through neat photographs, which is suspicious because the problem they solve is not neatness. The problem is finding the correct size quickly and noticing when one is missing before the drawer closes.
Magnetic organizers are good at that, if the format matches your workspace.

What to check
Check drive size, metric versus SAE, shallow versus deep sockets, and whether the labels are readable from the angle you actually open the drawer. If the organizer only looks good from directly above, it may be designed for a product photo rather than a toolbox.
