Kärcher publishes 1,000 W and 95 CFM for the WD 3. The listing leads with 2.8 peak horsepower, which is 2,088 W. Only one of those is a number you get.

Two numbers describe this machine and they disagree by a factor of two.
Kärcher publishes a rated input power of 1,000 W, a maximum airflow of 95 CFM and a maximum vacuum of 215 mbar. Those are on Kärcher's own technical data table, in watts, because watts are what an electric motor draws.
The listing leads with "2.8 Peak HP" and states no wattage at all.
2.8 horsepower is 2,088 W. The machine's entire rated draw is 1,000 W. So the headline figure is roughly twice what the thing pulls from the wall, and the reason it is not a lie is that "peak horsepower" means something narrower than it sounds: the output computed at the instant of maximum current, which is the moment the motor is stalling and about to stop. It is a shop-vacuum convention rather than a Kärcher invention, and every competitor prints one.
It is still not a number you get. The numbers you get are the 95 CFM and the 215 mbar, and those are the ones worth comparing across machines.

The two figures that actually decide it
Airflow and vacuum do different jobs, and a machine strong on one can be weak on the other.
Airflow — 95 CFM here — moves loose material along the hose. It is what picks up leaves, crumbs, sawdust and the general contents of a footwell. A machine with high vacuum and poor airflow grips a carpet and moves nothing.
Vacuum — 215 mbar, or 21.5 kPa — is the pull at the nozzle when the airflow is blocked. It is what pulls grit out of a seat seam and water out of a soaked mat. It is the figure that matters the moment the tool is pressed against something rather than hovering over it.
Most cordless car vacuums are sold on the second number and say little about the first. Fanttik publishes 13 kPa for the V8 Mate; no airflow figure appears anywhere in the specifications recorded for it here, which were read off its listing on 2026-09-03. So the only comparison both makers make possible is on vacuum: 13 kPa against 21.5 kPa, once the units are converted.
The airflow gap is very probably the larger of the two — a 1,000 W mains motor against a 90 W cell is not a close contest — but that is reasoning from the motor ratings, not a published CFM against a published CFM, and which of those two a claim rests on is worth saying out loud.
Where it earns its place
The drum is 4.5 gallons and it takes liquid. That combination is unusual enough at this size to be the actual reason to own one: a washing machine that empties itself onto the floor, a boot that has been carrying a leaking bag of compost, a windscreen washer bottle emptied down the inside of a wing. None of that is a job for a household vacuum, and all of it is a job the WD 3 is rated for.

The blower function deserves a line because it is included rather than sold separately, and it solves the class of problem where picking things up is the wrong verb — clearing a driveway, blowing water out of a wheel arch, getting debris out of a corner the hose will not reach.
Where it stops being the right tool
It is not an extractor. This is the single most common mismatch in this category, and it is worth being blunt about: a wet/dry vacuum lifts liquid that is already loose on the surface. An extractor sprays clean solution into the fibre, agitates it, and pulls the dirty solution back out. A set-in seat stain needs the second thing. Run a wet vacuum over it and the stain fades while damp and returns as it dries, which is the exact failure worked through in spray cleaner vs a spot-cleaner machine.
It is corded and it is 10.8 lb. Two metres of hose and 19.69 ft of cable is the radius. For a car on a driveway that is usually fine with an extension lead, and for a car parked on a street it is usually not.
It is loud. Kärcher publishes 74 dB(A), which is a considered decision rather than an incidental one if the garage is under somebody's bedroom.
Wet pickup is a procedure, not a switch. The cellulose cartridge filter comes out first. That means somewhere to put a filthy filter and hands that are already wet, and it is the step people skip once and then regret.
Who should buy it, and who should not
Buy it if the recurring problem is volume or liquid, and there is somewhere for a drum to live. It is the machine that turns a flooded footwell from a disaster into twenty minutes.
Skip it if the recurring problem is crumbs. A cordless handheld weighs 1.07 lb, lives in the boot and gets used, whereas a drum in the corner of a garage gets used when things have already gone wrong.

Skip it, too, if what you actually have is a stain. That is an extraction job and no amount of suction substitutes for putting solution in and pulling it back out.
