This is the best-engineered product in a category most people treat as an afterthought, and the thing that makes it good is also the thing that makes it awkward to buy: it is cut for one specific case.

The problem it addresses
Dust does not settle evenly in a computer. It packs into the windward face of a heatsink and into fan blades, and once a fin stack is loaded the cooling capacity of that component falls whatever the fan does about it.
Filtering is the intervention, and it costs something. Every filter is a restriction, so the question is never should I filter but how much airflow am I trading for how much dust caught — which is the argument in dust filters and the airflow they cost.

The two lines that matter are the profile and the mesh.
What it gets right
Under 2 mm total thickness is the specification that separates this from a generic sheet. A filter sitting proud of a panel changes the gap between the panel and the fan behind it, and in a front intake that gap is already the constraint. Two millimetres is close to negligible.
A single mesh layer is a deliberate engineering choice and it aligns with what actually needs filtering. The material that clogs a heatsink is fibre — carpet lint, pet hair, textile shed — and a single layer catches that. Fine particulate passes through any domestic filter and, at positive pressure, largely passes back out again. Doubling the mesh would catch marginally more of what does not matter while restricting a great deal more of what does.
And magnetic attachment is the feature that makes filtering work at all, for a reason nothing to do with dust. The parent guide's criterion is blunt: a filter needing four screws and a panel removal is a filter that gets cleaned once. One that lifts off gets cleaned monthly, and a filter that is cleaned is the only kind that helps.

Ugly score 3, and this time low is the point
Almost everything on this site scores high here. This scores 3 because it is under two millimetres of black mesh sitting flat against a black panel, and from a metre away it is invisible.
That is not the site going soft. It is the same principle stated from the other end: the reason most people run an unfiltered machine is that the filters they own are ugly, protruding or awkward, so they come off and never go back. A filter that disappears is one that stays fitted, and staying fitted is the entire mechanism.
Where it stops being the right tool
Pressure comes first
A filter on a case at negative pressure is close to pointless. If exhaust exceeds intake, the case makes up the difference by pulling air through every unsealed seam — the PCIe bracket gaps, the cable grommets, the panel edges — and none of that air is filtered. Fixing the fan balance costs nothing and has to happen before any filter earns its money.
The fitment list is the purchase decision
Being cut per case is why it works and why buying it is a small research task. If your case is listed, this is straightforward. If it is not, you are measuring openings and ordering custom, and at that point a generic magnetic sheet cut with scissors is a legitimate answer that this site would not argue against.
It does not replace cleaning
A filter relocates the dust to somewhere accessible. It does not remove the need to deal with it, and a loaded filter is worse for airflow than no filter at all. The method is in cleaning a gaming PC without damaging it.

Who should buy it, and who should not
Buy it if the machine sits on a carpeted floor, in a room with pets, or anywhere the intake load is genuinely high — and if the case is on the list. Under those conditions the fit and the low profile are worth the premium, and the magnetic mounting is what makes the whole thing self-sustaining.
Skip it if the case has decent slide-out filters already, or if the machine lives on a desk in a clean room, where cleaning twice a year is the proportionate answer. Where the machine sits is upstream of all of this and is covered in should a gaming PC sit on the floor.
Would we buy it again?
Only if the case is on the fitment list. That single condition decides it: listed, and this is the best version of the product available; unlisted, and the measuring turns a considered purchase into a project that a scissors-and-generic-mesh approach solves for a tenth of the price.

- Free, and on a modern case with slide-out trays they are usually good enough — the deciding question is whether they are easy enough to remove that you actually clean them.
- Cleaning more often instead
- Costs nothing, restricts no airflow at all, and for a machine in a clean room on a desk it is the proportionate answer.
