Fanttik X10 Pro Max Review: No Duty Cycle
It reaches 150 PSI and needs nothing from the car. But Fanttik publishes no duty cycle, and that single omission decides which of two jobs it is right for.

The Fanttik X10 Pro Max is the cordless inflator to look at if you want the car's electrical system out of the equation and your actual job is topping tyres up. It reaches 150 PSI, carries its own 27.75 Wh cell, and weighs 2.47 lb against the nearly five pounds of the corded compressor it competes with. The qualification is one specification that is not there: Fanttik publishes no duty cycle for it, and that is the number the hardest version of this job turns on.

The problem it addresses
A tyre inflator has one genuinely hard constraint, and it is not pressure. It is where the energy comes from. A socket-powered inflator depends on an accessory circuit that on many older cars was specified to run a cigarette lighter and is fused accordingly — the argument laid out in what a 12V socket will actually run. A compressor on battery clamps sidesteps that by going to the source. A cordless unit sidesteps it differently, by bringing its own.
Each of those three answers buys you something and costs you something, and the X10 Pro Max is the clearest version of the third. There is no circuit to blow, no hood to open, no clamps to fit in the rain, and nothing to trip over between the front of the car and the back. On a wet forecourt or in a multi-storey with the engine off, that is a real difference rather than a convenience feature.
What it does well
It removes the car from the problem completely. This is the whole case. The unit does not care how old the wiring is, whether the accessory socket is live with the ignition off, or whether the battery is healthy. For anyone whose last inflator blew a fuse, that is the fix.
The one-click deflate is more useful than it sounds. Letting pressure out accurately is otherwise a fiddle with a valve core and a gauge, and it is what you need after running lower pressures on sand or snow, or when you have overshot. Most inflators in this class will only add.
36 seconds for an R17 tyre is a real figure, in context. Fanttik also publishes 15 seconds to take a 195/65 R15 from 30 to 33 PSI, and that second number is the honest description of what this tool is for. Three PSI across four tyres is about a minute of work.
Presta and Schrader, and a 200 lm light. The valve coverage means the bike gets done with the same tool, and this is the one passenger-vehicle case where the 150 PSI ceiling is doing something — road bike tyres genuinely live up there. The light matters because punctures are disproportionately a night-and-rain event.

It is the least ugly thing reviewed here, which is worth saying plainly because this site usually rewards the opposite. It is a neat black cylinder with a good screen. Nothing about it is embarrassing to own, and nothing about it is load-bearing either — you are buying the specification, not the finish.
Where it stops being the right tool
The missing duty cycle is the real limitation, and it is worth being precise about why. A duty cycle is the manufacturer saying how long the compressor may run before it must stop and cool. Exceeding it is the commonest way a small compressor dies. The VIAIR 88P publishes 25 minutes at 30 PSI. Fanttik publishes nothing for this unit.
That absence is not evidence the X10 Pro Max is fragile. It is an unknown, and an unknown is exactly what you do not want in the scenario where it would matter — four tyres, genuinely flat, at the side of a road, with no way to judge whether you are about to cook the thing. With the VIAIR you can plan against a number. Here you can only stop when it gets hot, which is a worse instrument.
The refills-per-charge figure has the same shape of problem. Ten R17 refills sounds generous until you notice that "refill" is undefined. A three-PSI top-up and a fill from flat differ by a large factor, and only one of them is plausibly ten. Taken as a top-up figure it is believable and useful; taken as a from-flat figure it would be remarkable, and Fanttik does not claim it is one.
A battery is a thing that can be flat. This is the failure mode a corded compressor structurally does not have, and it is not hypothetical — an inflator is reached for exactly when you have not thought about it in months. It is a maintenance item now, on the same schedule as the tyre pressures it exists to fix.
Who should buy it, and who should not
Buy it if the honest description of your use is top-ups: a few PSI across four tyres, every month or two, often in a car park or a driveway, and you would rather not open the hood or trust the accessory socket. For that job it is better than the corded option in every respect that matters and worse in none.
Skip it if the job you are actually buying for is a flat tyre on an older car far from anywhere. That case wants a published duty cycle and a power source that cannot itself be flat, and the VIAIR 88P is the tool that has both.

Would we buy it again?
Only if the use case were the top-up one, which for most drivers it honestly is. The reason this is not a straight yes is the missing duty cycle: it is a specification its closest competitor publishes, it is the specification that decides the harder job, and a figure a manufacturer does not print is one you cannot plan around.

- Cheaper and adequate on a modern car with a properly rated accessory circuit, and it cannot be caught flat because it draws from the car.
- Doing nothing and using the forecourt airline
- Genuinely fine if you drive past one weekly and only ever need a couple of PSI. The case for owning an inflator is the time you cannot get to one.
